Black Sheep Arts turns 3!!

Black Sheep Arts is 3 today!

I cannot believe it has been 3 years since the day I registered my business and started trading. I dont think I would have ever been able to do it if it weren't for Wolverhampton University, the SPEED Plus project and all the wonderful, inspiring people I have met along the way.

Black Sheep Arts has continued to grow and change over the last two years. I've had more followers, customers and more sales over the last year and hoping my flexible - part-time- business continues to progress and grow! :)

There has been highs and lows. I am a bit further behind than when I first started out. But I definitely prefer the slow and steady route with growing my business. It is more fun, rewarding and I can be experimental with it.

I represent less artists than when I started out. This hasn't changed my ethos of wanting to support local artists, I am just taking a little bit of a step back from having too many artists. I want to be able to do it right and having too many artists was not fair on them, I couldn't give them the time & support needed. Bec Broomhall Arts is still my longest running artist and the piece below is still my favourite of hers! Keep an eye on her this year - her new experimental work is stunning!

As I work full time, this is still very much a part time business. I am glad I have managed to find the time to create new work this year and find my own style and create new collections. I think there is still room for a few more insect and bug related pieces of art work before the year is up!

I am now in the run up to Christmas. (Yes the C Word!!!) I have a week to chill out next week in beautiful Scotland, recharge my batteries and get some inspiration - before knuckling down. I currently have 1 christmas fair booked - Highbury Hall on the 19th November - but will update you all on anymore. I will also be blogging my Christmas Gift guide soon - keep your eyes peeled.

Thank you all so much for all your continued support - I am loving every minute of my journey with this business, even if it isn't how I imagined it would be.

I have met some wonderful people, artists, makers and customers and heres to many more years of Black Sheep Arts.

Emma
