The Expanded Field

My ‘Exhibition of the Month’ is an exhibition celebrating international artists curated by Gareth Jukes. The exhibition is in a new gallery in Chapel Ash Wolverhampton, called Asylum Gallery.

The exhibition is called The Expanded Field and has work covering all mediums, paintings, drawings, videos and from over the world, including artists from Greece.

The exhibition consists of a mixture of provocative and unconventional, psychologically charged sculptures, photographs paintings and videos, the works look at themes of beauty, culture, love, death and shame, works that are often referencing art history, popular culture and current affairs.

Gareth creates an international platform where creatives think and exchange ideas .

The opening night on the 27th February was a brilliant night and massively attended. Here are some photographs taken from the night – some highlights!









About some of the artists :

Christophe Dillinger Experimental photographer from France , writer, publisher and editor in chief of Square Magazine, whose work has been shown in Europe , Russia & U.S.A Gareth Jukes Birmingham based Artist. Exhibited & published internationally. Large scale street art pastes ups attracting the attention of several art collectors and art dealers in England. Most recent art work was a 32ft tall paste up inside the Public Art Gallery West Bromwich, England. Cacao Rocks CACAO ROCKS, he is a street artist based in Athens, Greece. CACAO ROCKS has a minimalistic style with a great use of colouring and patterning throughout each of his pieces. His style some what resembles Jean Michel Basquiat or Blu the legendary Brazilian street artist. Emma Perry West Midlands based artist exploring colour in space through various mediums. She is interested in the internal and external forms created in her work. Emma also makes commercial screen & lino prints, and has photography for sale. Guy Holness An emerging young British artist who works in a variety of mediums including spray paint, sculpture, photography, and drawing. He is currently developing and coordinating creative art projects with youth organisations across Europe. The Inspiration Network, a program that he recently set up brought young people together from, England, Napol Tbs Napol was born in Valencia , he started to painting on streets in 2004. He specialized in oil painting and traditional illustration. After that, he studied a master in Artistic Production.Now he is dedicated to painting, drawing and tattooing.
