In September I (Emma Perry) got accepted onto the SPEED Plus course through Wolverhampton University. Since then it has been a brilliant but hectic 1 and a half months learning the basics and more to set up my own business.
I like to dream big and my goal is ambitious but still achievable. I want to set up my own gallery, an artist led space, which will have lots going on and be a real community hub.
I want Black Sheep Studio & Art Gallery to have a sense of community and support local artists and craft makers. Once up and running the studio will provide a venue for in which to display and sell work, teach and lead workshops, learn new skills and ensure a welcoming home for creatives - both new and established.
Black Sheep Studio & Art Gallery stands for a celebration of the individual artist.
The idea was born in order to make art more accessible and open art up to a wider audience.
For the time being, to make a name for myself, I will be joining local craft markets and doing online sales.
If you know any local artist or craft makers looking for somewhere or someone new to sell their work - then do get in touch. It really is the more the merrier!!
